Top-Tier investment firm seeks a Biopharma Associate to join their lean team in Menlo Park. The Private Equity Associate will be integrally involved with all aspects of the private equity and growth equity investment processes, including sourcing and evaluating potential investments; performing due diligence; structuring and closing transactions; monitoring performance at portfolio companies; exiting investments; and interacting with management teams and the firm’s investors. The Associate will work primarily within life sciences but will have some exposure to other sub-verticals within healthcare.
Responsibilities:
* Learn and follow the dynamics of the health care industry
* Build relationships within the firm and with management teams, as well as with external advisors and industry experts
* Identify attractive investment themes and opportunities
* Gather and synthesize industry and market data
* Extensive analysis on potential investments, including in-depth financial modeling
* Manage the due diligence process, including overseeing commercial, accounting, tax, and legal diligence advisors
* Assist with the development of and monitor operational initiatives within portfolio companies
* Monitor and report on portfolio company performance
* Draft and present oral and written materials to management and investor
Backgrounds:
* 1-2 years of Private Equity/ Investing experience
* Must embody the firm’s core values, particularly unquestioned integrity, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to teamwork and excellence
* Genuine enthusiasm and curiosity for investing, a strong understanding of fundamental business analysis, and an outstanding academic record
* Superior analytical and financial modeling skills; a solid grasp of financial concepts; exceptional written, interpersonal, and communication skills; attention to detail; and a maturity that enables them to contribute to a collaborative and constructive work environment
