Venture Search is working with a proprietary trading firm based in Amsterdam that is recruiting a Software Engineer to join their team. The successful incumbent will sit within a high-performance team, working alongside some of the industry’s best quantitative analysts, strategists, data scientists, and traders.
Responsibilities:
* Track down new ways to streamline, gain efficiency, and break down technical challenges into business-automated trading solutions
* Establish and track down metrics for regular improvements
* Prioritize work on tasks of strategic value and manage multiple projects at a time
* Support the implementation of new business and associated tech system/process changes
* Participate in all aspects of hands-on software development and maintenance including writing code, test automation, manual testing, deployments, troubleshooting, and production support
* Proactively manage the trade-offs between scalability, reliability, developer/ops overhead, and infrastructure cost of building scalable data pipelines
* Develop code that is designed to be reusable and that can be shared amongst other teams
Qualifications:
* BSc/MSc in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related STEM field
* Employs a methodological and consistent approach to solving problems
* Deep knowledge of programming languages such as Java, C#, and/or C++ and developing applications in Python
* Significant experience working with Postgres, MongoDB, Docker, Kafka/EventHub, and Kubernetes
* Expert knowledge of Azure, AWS, or GCP and management of large-scale data pipeline system
* Familiarity with CI/CD best practices and eager to drive all test automation and CI/CD test efforts
* In-depth understanding and acquaintance with Linux-based concepts and micro-service deployments
* Desired capabilities with ModelOps in creating, testing, deploying, and monitoring, ML or non-ML model
* Ideal experience within a finance, trading firm, start-up, or hedge fund environment, or a strong affinity with automated trading
* Detail-oriented
