Manager – Fund Accounting, Private Equity & Real Estate

Support the firm’s client leads on multiple real estate and Private Equity funds within various industries. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. 5+ years of progressive experience, preferably in public accounting, or a combination of experience at a private equity firm and public accounting experience.

Responsibilities:

You will be working directly with leading private equity and real estate fund firms in the alternative asset industry under the guidance and direction from our experienced team of industry veterans. You will be facilitating our service offering by assisting, performing, and reviewing the following:
* Supporting the IQEQ client leads on multiple real estate and Private Equity funds within various industries
* Handling the team and support functions to manage client expectations and ensure adherence to timelines on client deliverables in accordance to the requirements defined by client agreements, tax and other regulatory deadlines
* Maintaining a working understanding of limited partnership agreements, and applying terms to financial reporting and income and expense allocations
* Preparing and/or reviewing journal entries, management fee calculations, investor allocations, capital account statements, capital call and distribution calculations, sources/uses of cash, investor notices, carried interest calculations and maintenance of waterfall models
* Managing the delivery of capital call and distributions notices to the clients and the investors
* Reviewing quarter-end and year-end financial reporting information and statements, notes disclosures, and supporting schedules
* Managing quarter-end and year-end process, and handling requests from the external auditors and tax teams
* Assessing operational effectiveness and making suggestions for process development
* Handling daily/routine client information requests and fulfilling ad-hoc requests as needed
* Managing and prioritizing work tasks to meet competing deadlines
* Training and developing the junior team members

Qualifications:

* Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
* 5+ years of progressive experience in preferably public accounting, or a combination of experience at a private equity firm and public accounting experience
* Analytical and technical skills, with proficiency in accounting and administration for alternative investment structures, including experience of large, complex investment structures
* Ability to provide exceptional client service
* Ability to collaborate with others in a team environment, provide and accept constructive feedback
* Ability to produce high quantity of work product with accuracy and extreme attention to detail
* Ability to manage multiple demands and competing deadlines
* Effective and professional communication skills
* Ability to work overtime as needed to meet deadlines
* Experience in or desire to manage and train the junior team members
