GFI Energy Group seeks to hire a senior investment professional who can quickly integrate and contribute at a senior level to all aspects of the group’s activities. This individual will be expected to work to generate new deal flow by proactively covering the market, lead new investment due diligence and transaction execution, and work with portfolio companies as a board member to help drive value creation.

Responsibilities:

* Support the group’s investment activities in all respects
* Source new investment opportunities through proactive sector coverage and through banker/intermediary coverage
* Lead deal origination and execution within the manufacturing supply chain sector
* Develop new investment theses and a game plan for how to source and execute on the ideas
* Lead the underwriting of new investments, from initial screening through final investment committee as a member or leader of a 3-4-person deal team
* Lead negotiation of transaction structure with counterparties
* Debt financing: Source lenders and lead negotiation of debt financing
* Serve as the primary GFI Energy Group’s interface with portfolio company management
* Sourcing, due diligence, closing and integration of add-on acquisitions
* Support or lead an exit process for portfolio companies
* Mentor and coach the junior deal team members

Education:

* Undergraduate degree from a well-regarded institution is required, with Engineering/Science/Operations or Business education highly desired
* MBA is a plus

Experience Required:

* Strong references supporting a history of academic and professional success
* 8+ years of private equity investment experience, with 10+ years of business experience in the energy or industrials sector
* Successful and proven investment track record within relevant sector (including broader industrials and/or manufacturing)
* Excellent investment sourcing skills, with strong strategic thinking capabilities and effective network of contacts with company management teams, intermediaries, and other industry constituents
* Proven experience leading all aspects of private equity investing, including investment thesis development, due diligence, negotiations, management of portfolio companies, and exits
* Board of Directors active memberships and corporate governance experience
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including superb attention to detail with a persevering, “roll-up” the sleeves personality
* Strong background in investment banking, private equity, or corporate finance, with a proven track record of successful deal making and strategic investments across industrials vertical
* Strong leadership, interpersonal, management, organisational, and communication skills
