Manager – Tax

A prestigious and fast-growing private equity firm is building out their partner services function and looking for a Tax Manager reporting to the VP of Tax. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills in conjunction with strong analytical and technical abilities. The candidate must be detail-oriented, highly accurate, and a self-starter who can work with minimal supervision in a team-oriented environment.

The finance group provides support to the firm, its partners and managing directors.

Primary Responsibilities:

Tax Planning
* Work with the tax advisors on strategies to minimize tax liabilities and ensure compliance with tax regulations
* Plan and review of federal and state tax with scheduling of K-1s
* Review income tax returns for various individual, partnership and fiduciary entities for the family office
* Research tax-related issues
* Manage the team with special projects on an as-needed basis

Risk Management
* Identify and manage risks to the private

Legal and Compliance
* Ensure that all tax compliance comply with legal and regulatory requirements

Financial Administration
* Oversee day-to-day financial operations, bill payments, and cash flow management
* Coordinate with the third-party providers
* Prepare financial statements

Requirements:

* Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
* CPA a plus
* 6+ years of tax experience (big 4 is a plus)
* Private Equity tax experience
* Understanding of tax basis, structure charts, at risk rules, passive activity rules, and basis limitations a plus
* Competency with Adobe and MS Office products, especially Excel
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
